Professional Profile
My research work is in the area of Computational Intelligence / AI / ML / Soft-computing. My research groups are broadly involved in two kinds of sub-paradigms: Design of Scalable High-Performance Computing (HPC) based algorithms for Big Data handling & Design of Advanced Deep Learning and Generative AI Algorithms.
Since decade, the work has been going on in collaboration with ICAR-National Institute of Soybean Research (NSRI), Indore & CIAE Bhopal. She established a Centre of Excellence for AI/ML & Deep Learning for sustainable agriculture (AgriHub) funded by MeitY Delhi, S&T MP and industries in collaboration with ICAR-NSRI, Indore, ICAR-CIAE Bhopal & CDAC Pune. AgriHub is a transdisciplinary, multi-institutional collaborative facility designed to revolutionize Indian agriculture by fostering innovation, development, and deployment of cutting-edge technologies through DeepAgriTech projects which are targeting the development of cutting-edge tools such as drone image analysis, AI-powered decision support systems, and Big Data Analytics to enhance farming efficiency and productivity. Establishing a collaborative ecosystem involving industry, academia, and government stakeholders to drive innovation in crop enhancement technologies. Encouraging the creation of startups, intellectual property, academic publications, and transformative innovations in agricultural genomics. One startup in AgriGenomics is registered. AgriHub currently supports 21 ongoing research projects and one startup, delivering prototypes, invention disclosures, patent filings, and research publications.
My research also involves development of novel deep learning algorithms based on innovative GAN architectures, Diffusion Models, and Transformer networks for anomaly detection in videos in real time with minimum latency, and are proposed to be utilized for monitoring industrial environments in real time in collaboration with CSIR-CEERI Pilani. This research is adopted by one of the industries for the National Highways Authority of India(NHAI) based toll plaza problem and joint work is ongoing. One startup is also registered for this problem. Additionally, Generative AI and Diffusion Model based frameworks are being explored for plant phenotyping and agricultural data augmentation in AgriHub ongoing DeepAgriTech projects.
Prof. Tiwari is an IEEE Senior Member (elevated November 2025) and a Life Member of both the Computer Society of India and the Soft Computing Research Society. She has published over 61 SCI-indexed journal papers in journals including IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Big Data, and publications from Elsevier and Springer. She has guided 13 PhD scholars to completion and maintains research collaborations with the University of Technology Sydney, University of York (UK), and University of Maryland Eastern Shore (USA).
